Dont forget he independently bankrolled this company for a number of years and saw little for it. Without him the company would have gone bust. In my mind that's probably how he sees it and he will do what he wants with his shares as he's owed that.
Dont really see an issue here. If anything it's a positive as it shows the other directors are keen to get in, and it slowly reduces so many shares being held by one person.
