I am a ‘proof is in the pudding’ sort of person. My glass moves from being ‘half full’ to being half empty depending on whether people, and I mean boards and management deliver. Under promise and over deliver. So far OVH seems to have held so much promise yet not delivered on their promises. What about the dividend last year. Promised in writing, then nothing... It is about credibility.
Having worked in numerous corporate roles for some 40 years and seen different managers ‘close up’, one can sometimes see the frauds. They keep on trying to ‘massage the message’. Better to come out and explain why things did not happen as planned and the reasons. Those that are slick with the message, are often those that are later found to be difficult to pin down and they fail to deliver. It is about them and their egos rather than just delivering. I remain to be convinced.
