@ramamba. Geoff would do even better in the fee collecting department if he effectively “took control” of ALF. He would get the increase from the SP to NTA, plus get SH on side (as opposed to well and truly offside with JB), plus get another $200 mil FUM. (And the fee commission on that).......
Interesting though with WMI, that he is inviting all and sundry (Sophisticated investors and fund managers) on board with the same deal ? For my SMSF, it’s a case of subscribing (roughly) $1.31 and then getting 6 cps back in Oct ? FFR.... On the surface a good deal for my SMSF (with the Franking credits) but I don’t know that it’s not a case of “hooking” the investor and then reeling them in. However, micro or small caps is where Geoff cut his teeth and they appear to have been nimble enough to perform well during the downturn and their portfolio also looks to have a good mix of emerging stocks.
Back to CDM, I have them on a watchlist and CDM only moved by approx 1 cent today, but the portfolio performed strongly and is still approx 30% under NTA. Investors obviously need to have their confidence massaged and reassured after Karl’s fiasco with ARQ. A case of investor trust I think......it takes a long time to build, and is lost in a very short time. Hopefully he and his team have learnt from the experience and In His last video, he did a Mea culpa, and admitted that things have changed. A rising CDM SP will be the proof that investors and potential investors, believe him.
