Aside from the standard prohibitions against insider trading, the only specific moratorium periods are around release of financial reports.
I appreciate both sides of the argument: on the one hand, it is a certainly encourgaing to see directors buying up big on market; on the other, i dont think it would be great optics if positive assays are released in the next few days, regardless of whether its legitimate trading.
One thing i am curious about is whether knowledge of when the assays are to be released would be considered price sensitive? i.e. the director may not know the results of the assays but he might know that they are due to be released next tuesday (for example). The info is clearly not known by the market and could be the impetus for purchasing more shares but i think its also arguable whether timing would constitue market sensitive info. Walking a fine line it would seem.
