Thomas Beregi mentioned that CCP had nits eye on the BNPL scene, but his comment did not spell out what he had in mind. I am fairly sure he was looking at it from the WalletWizard perspective, not from the PDL perdpective. That is, perhaps, people who have bought a larger item using BNPL may wish to keep their access to the BNPL service provider healthy, and use WalletWizard to smooth the BNPL payments, provided they meet CCP's qualification criteria.
When I bought my first house nearly fifty years ago, I had a good job, but no cash in hand to buy major house-hold items. I used to buy such items at a time when I had a third of the price, and from retailers who would supply goods on the basis of a third down, a third within thirty days, and a third within sixty days. Someone in that position these days may wish to spread out the payments a bit more, and WalletWizard can be a handy facility to do that. Using WalletWizard thus, and paying off that debt makes it easier to access it again and again as the need arises, and for some people, when the whim arises.
Having quick access to credit has always done me more good than harm. Soon after coming to Australia, I had no problem borrowing from my employer, or accessing a bank overdraft to cover short-term situations. Because I paid back quickly, the overdrafts never cost me much, and the same applied to credit cards when they were introduced.
As an aside, the Latin word “credit” means “he believes”, and “creditor” means “believer”, and “debit” and “debtor” means “he owes” and “the one who owes” respectively. The extended meaning of “credit” and “debit” in trading accounts flowed from the introduction of double-entry bookkeeping to Europe by Venetians circa 1300AD, when Italian had not yet established itself sufficiently to exclude the general use of Latin as a written language in Italy.
