A court case/hearing is a very long way off. At this stage Nearmap will be preparing a response and determining their angle for defence (i.e. which defence strategy to adopt as there are numerous for patent infringements).

What usually would take place is a response from Nearmap. Possible amendment of the initial claim by EV (they reduced the number of claims in their litigation against Verisk). This might not even get to a court case- can be easily closed by a judge as not being case-worthy (happens often).
