Qantas is an infrastructure stock.
Each politician needs a major airline to fly their constituents around for all sorts of reasons. If I were a sitting politician and let a flight route from my town/city fall into liquidation I would lose my seat in parliament. Qantas will not go the same way as Virgin Australia (Mark 1).
