Well whatever the truth the unfortunate thing now is that what has transpired today might actually torpedo a takeover offer.
Two reasons for this.
Firstly, prior to today the stock was trading at $0.69 and things were looking very grim. A takeover offer at say $1 would’ve looked attractive. Now that there’s been a leak and the stock has traded up to $0.88 the suitor might back right off knowing it will now take a much higher offer.
Secondly, now that insider trading rumours are swirling the CEO might make damn sure this all amounts to nothing simply to save his own backside.
So in true Nuix style shareholders get screwed again !
