CTD as the name suggests focuses on Corporate travel which is a very different prospect compared to other travel (for holidays etc).
Most corporates will have internal policies on airlines to use, the type of ticket you have to purchase (business, economy, ability to change bookings), the cost of a ticket and similar criteria on hotels. They will then also have internal policies wrt approvals that are needed and who/what credit cards can be used for booking that trip.......the CTD software needs to integrate into that clients workflow so that it all works relatively seamlessly, and this is why once CTD is embedded with a client, it tends to be hard to dislodge.
You also need to think about all the other different aspects (& I'm not sure if CTD covers this, but can't see why not), but things like visas, tracking people based on where they are (in case they need to extract people from location), and the ability to change things on the fly (business travellers need to make a lot more changes than regular ones)......add to this that with the number of clients booking through the CTD platform, they are also able to negotiate discounts for the scale of bookings.
You need to understand that someone earning >200k annually (I assume they are not sending juniors on many trips), is wasting time doing all the research and trying to find best price/routes/times etc etc......CTD saves them time, saves the company in admin/overhead and keeps everything in policy with potentially a cost savings.
Big question is whether business travel will return to normal......still a bit of a question mark given technology and adoption through covid, but I suspect the bigger issue atm is the prospect of a recession and the market thinking this will delay whatever travel does come back for a little longer.
