some of you would remember that I am very critical of Ian C because he only drills with one orientation at Boda which is east-west and I suggested that such approach is risky as it can miss many veins that have parallel orientation to the holes.
Yesterday I watched a presentation by a geologist who explained how one directional drilling is very poor approach as it creates what he called orientational bias.
The Geo will form a view that the bulk of the veins only have certain orientation because he did not actually test to see if there are any other veins by drilling with different orientation.
See below - the red line is showing how many veins will be missed if the geo persists with same orientation and what happens (black line) if he changes the hole orientation. I drew the black hole as example.
