I don't think ordinary shareholders would be aware of the value that he brings to the table and only the board would know that.
From what I have seen historically, he seems good at anticipating future trends, but not so good at converting that into a profitable business, which is what shareholders are after.
Often a skillset has to be matched to a business need and then you find your place to add value.
