To me, there is absolutely nothing wrong with Mr Williams' share sale. He probably realised a substantial capital gain and is using these funds for (it seems) a private purpose in the US. Borrowing funds for this purpose would not be a good tax strategy.
However, an excellent strategy now would be to borrow a few million dollars for the purpose of buying back into PNV (increasing his already imposing holding). Now such a transaction would truly unsettle the shorters. Not financial advice. Just some whimsical thinking. GLTAH. Keith
