The scenario you described above doesn't make sense. Just say they had done the divestment first then raised. All that would have done is reduced dilution by a little bit (putting aside whether that was even a possible scenario). In market cap terms the company would still be worth the same and the share price might by 3.8 or 4c now.

I'm still a very long way from certain that deal would have gone ahead without finance, and if it had we'd all be sitting around discussing what's going to happen to the SP when the dilution occurs.

Actually I can image the conversation we'd be having "The Big Boys are holding the share price down knowing the company will need to raise so they can get their bargain shares."
