Perhaps you can politely ask a question at the AGM. It's a legitimate subject.
It's always potentially worrying when Directors sell, but if we'd been given a reason, that may have helped minimise concern. But yes, he has as much right to sell part of (or all of) his holding as you, I and institutions.
I'd be interested to know who purchased. Probably unlikely, but it'd be good if it was another Director.
