Given the size of his existing holding, I speculate that he’s buying on market (which are relatively tiny amounts) to keep the price/market valuation up.
for what reason I don’t know - could be to improve the paper value of his holdings (maybe he has loans out against his shareholding - pretty common). Or it could be in anticipation of a partnering deal ( to show strength)
