They slug 4% commission on travellers cheques for US$100.....what a ripoff!!!!!! $60,000 Dong gets you 5 courses of great food and 2 large bottles of Local beer!! Hotels etc in southern Vietnam only charge 1% and in some cases zero!!!!!Only banks can change travellers cheques so they have a monopoly in the region. Everyone sees the ANZ logo, all nationalities complained about the ripoff, so ANZ I gather would be damaging their international standing for something so petty (to us) as a commission....clearly it is a money spinner, but at what cost....false economy I say.
