Instos have yearly ASX fee packages that's why they can run bots all day everyday at small parcel sizes.
They can set bots to control the open and close (or try) and of course during open session.
While there are some small retail, retail have a tendency to dump becasue they don't have any master plan they are trying to hide and are usually impatient and have no automated way to break up a large holding in small parcels.
I've done it myself in the past. Trying to break up say 5M shares into parcels just above the fixed fee broker charge to ensure you don't get nibbled and order locked is painful.
