Are yes "performance rights" - one of the wonders of the mining world, with many notable exponents, that I'm sure readers will be familiar with. Despite a company's seeming lack of progress, at least in SP and "share holder returns" , MD's seem to effortlessly meet "key milestones" in their "incentive performance package" formulated by the "independent" remuneration committee, selected from the BOD .... the MD selected. MD KPI's are like having to bribe the well paid pilot of an aircraft to land the aircraft after said pilot happily got the aircraft (which he did not buy or service) into the air .... such bribery is understandable in societies that chronically underpay all and sundry, but its hard to fathom why its necessary in the Australian mining industry, where CEO's and MD's earn more than Prime Ministers ..... I'm sure the first "remuneration report" of Big RED's first AGM, will not disappoint keen students of the KPI art.
