    Not necessarily. Directors buy and sell shares all the time, at market too. This could simply be a case of the director taking a punt on a stock they believe in.

    Insider trading would be more around sharing non-publicly available information with other people, which influences them to buy or sell, before the news gets released to the public.

    In this context, buying shows confidence. All we can do is try and read between the lines: Would a director buy shares of things weren’t looking positive? I’ve seen directors buy and SPs plunge even lower.

    Though, the opposite also happened with a director selling shares. CEO of DRO sold all his shares at about 80 cents earlier in the year. Right after he sold, the stock shot up to $2.70.

    However, as another user pointed out last night. It’s a good sign, and better than a director selling shares.
