IMVHO, it is these types of purchases (spending $36,598 to purchase a total of ~ 5 million shares) that suggests to me Mr Beard does not seem to know what is happening.
Although I understand his probable motivation for doing so (I am sure most of us on here know), I am certain he (along with many, many others) are soon going to learn what a futile exercise this is and the eventual loss that is going to be cemented in. I will be very, very surprised if anyone ever regains the "value" of the shares they may have..... no matter what the SP ends up being - in nominal terms.
...and I am not just referring to this little doggie.
