    DM had to exercise his options because they were about to expire.

    He also had knowledge of the upcoming results on improved speeds and the variable resistance capability.

    The company has a blackout on staff trading in advance of announcements - so even if he wanted to sell immediately to cover the exercise cost of his shares and go free carried, he wasn't able to do so until this weeks news was out.
