Wow. That 5% interest for "parking your money" as a reason to not invest in DDR AT $7.77 has so far turned out to be totally and utterly worthless and might I add - short sighted. Investors focusing on short term interest rates as opposed to focusing on a growing dividend and return on invested capital are delusional and cannot clearly see the road ahead of them.
Can I ask what the franking rate is on 5% cash?
$7.77 (at time of posting) = SP Appreciation of approx. 54% NOT INCLUDING a dividend yield including franking of circa ~8%.
Investors who have blindly focused on (current) term deposit/interest rate returns should seek Government assistance for visual impairment.
You've been duped, because by the time your 5% reverts to the mean, The cost in lost opportunity will be huge.
