I would think that the fact that he is joining the biggest legal firm in the world, presumably as a partner or with the promise of a partnership shortly, gives the reason he is resigning. I would think that that is very much more important to Brett Heading than $200,000, altough it is probable that Brett is not concerned about the repayment of his loan. He may well have confidence in the remaining directors and the progress of negotiations that he sees no cause to worry. This is about as high as a Brisbane solicitor can go. These sort of opportunities only occur a couple of times in a man's lifetime. It is highly likely that such a firm would not allow its partners to hold directorships in a public company.
Anyhow, although I have a high confidence in Heading's integrity and ability, I see the current move as a positive reflection on where he sees the company.
