When your company is haemorrhaging cash and you have no apparent capacity to penetrate markets with the products you have, few companies want to host their tech on your platform and little of value coming down the pipe.....I'd have thought the axe would have fallen harder, sooner on expensive headcount that has no ability to impact the aforementioned issues the company is grappling with.

I'd say ole JK was super matey with Billy Souter and couldn't face losing a major internal ally who kept at bay some of those after JKs blood. Kind of like the same relationship JK has with the chairman ...
