We are talking about Alaska here, there isn’t the gas transmission in place yet for the north slope. Point Thompson is a liquids stripping project and any gas project will require large capital outlays like LNG facilities and pipelines. There is only 3-6 months a year when building can take place due to weather conditions and transportation.

Large projects to access far away markets is what is required here, no different to offshore gas in WA. Hopefully hillcorp and Exxon can get 3rd parties to develop the LNG facilities and infrastructure. Hopefully a consortium with deep Arab financing can be formed to build the infrastructure to create the gas market for the stranded north slope gas. 45 TCF is a large gas reserve and there is estimated to be 200tcf of conventional gas in the north slope so there are plenty of potential still available.
