The cove was renamed by Australia with the consent of the Turks in about 1984.. When I visited there in about 1986 there was a concrete memorial with these words
I remember the words but a monument that was something different, but that was a long time ago, and the error may well be mine.
There has been theories that he did not say the words, however Ataturk was an exceptional man and it would have been the kind of thing he would have said.
