My take is that RH is the one to make the decision to go, otherwise the company would have found the replacement CEO before making the announcement.
It could be that he was head-hunted? It could be that he disagreed with the new direction from the new Chairperson?
Who knows, but the lack of information is poor in any context, particularly in light of their stated strategy of improving communications.
There had better be a rabbit coming out of some hat, otherwise this is looking like it's hanging by a thread.
