Anyone puzzled or dismayed by the recent SP downtrend should understand that the 1 year period from the IPO ended on 20 DEC last year. There was a bit of selling pressure leading up to that date as traders saw that they'd be better copping the 30% over 15% as the SP started to bottom out. Be interesting to watch this SP now that all IPO traders are gone. In summary, the SP is now truly valued by the market, and not to the time-frame of those traders looking to exit with best or impulsive profit taking. Our big buyer last week was probably watching for the bottom on this action.
Chart shows SP with bull / bear trend (bottom) over the past 8 months. Clearly this stock has been a bear trend, however, short volume during December and January was only at 0.5 percent - which seems to me a missed opportunity by shorters. Shorting a ticker at the lead up to the 1 year IPO date might be a good way to make some coin?..... Be interesting to see how this develops over the next 6-12 months:
