Ten years ago, the Aus $ exchange rate was very low in the GFC, thus inflating the $ value of sales when converted back to $A.
The Aud-US $ exchange rate went from around 60c 10 years ago to $1 a few years later.
There was also a reduction in capital spending in the years following the GFC.
The company has also decreased the cost of its equipment over time by moving manufacturing to lower cost countries.
