I'm also in for the long haul. Today's share price along with short term fluctuations do not concern me. My only prediction is this. When the stock goes up, we will get a heap of people jump on, based purely on the sharp rice they see in the daily graph. They will not research and as a result not build up any in depth knowledge, but will post like they are experts. Then when it drops, they will become bitter and blame everyone but themselves. Then they will go and chase the perceived easy money elsewhere.
Though a different situation. Gilead payed what they estimated was 3 years revenue for Kite Pharma. [Though there is some speculation the revenue has disappointed so far] So they would be in profit in year 3 after paying for the acquisition. Though it should be noted that they were close to FDA registration therefore substantially de-risking. The longer they wait, the more they pay as some of the risk is removed.
Patents run out in 2036 I think. Thats a lot of potential income.
