I 100% agree, but management being dodgy about not c9mmunicating timelines doesnt mean the delay isn't the reusult of working to expand the scope.
wishful thinking, sure. But not totally implausible
But management should totally be held to account for the lie by omission. They should have communicated the delay as soon as they knew they wouldnt make it, as well as the reason for the delay.
