A bricks and mortal (not online) business should not be paying more than 0.8%-1.2% for card transactions. And if they are large enough well under 0.8%. The reason online retailers pay more is due to the fraud/chargeback risk of card not present transactions.
I have not seen if they publish the rates, we could see the number of transactions processed vs the fees charged by Fiserv and MC/VISA and make estimates. But the 40% margin improvement is between the intercharge and interconnect fees and what CRO charge to their clients.
But the main value proposition for CRO is not about online digitial business (although no doubt they are there), but the ability for our customers send an invoice to their customers, and use CRO to process the transaction instead of a third party or bank transfer etc. Big upside, the bigger our SaaS clients, the bigger the total revenue processed, the bigger our coin
