1. I have never asked Prof Chen why he named the drugs CS*, but I have always assumed that it was named after Chen and Su (first and last authors on the paper).
2. Yes they were trying to keep the true identity of what CS1 & CS2 were hidden from the world. They have been working on analogues of bisantrene and they wanted as long as possible to develop these before their competitors found out what they were doing. This really isn’t of relevance to us as we are not making analogues of bisantrene.
