This then appears to be an attempt by SVM to fend off other parties who could beat their easily-beatable offer.
3c a share is chump change for MCB and the NPV that is on offer there, and once derisked with permits in place, even more so!
Looking at it from the POV of SVM, I imagine that it probably wouldn't be a good thing for them if their offer ended up either being rejected by us, or being outbid by another party.
Maybe they should've thought about the repercussions before putting in such a lowball offer!
