So could it be that ASX put on the Pause because they saw the AFR article and sent VRX a please explain because there could be an assumption that AFR knew something that the Market had not been told. If that assumption was correct then the Trading Pause would be price sensitive.
VRX was left scrambling because they had not seen or were aware of anything. So VRX initially responded to ASX saying we will get a copy of the article and respond soon. Hence the Trading Halt.
Now after reading the article they prepared a response for ASX.
If this is the scenario then trading will resume tomorrow morning.
If trading does not commence tomorrow then this evening's announcement is a cover note for something else happening because VRX are under a publication prohibition for the present time - until Monday.
However all this just shows how futile all the speculation is and how it would be much better to get good comms from VRX.
