I don't understand how can the board cannot notify the shareholders prior to applying due diligence, given the following statement (albeit its AFR view):
"The bid is understood to have valued Oil Search at materially more than its $7.97 billion market capitalisation, but was still not enough to convince the board that it was good enough to put to shareholders."
