The reason this discussion is occurring is because a senior minister of the Malaysian Government has declared the residues to be highly toxic, radioactive and therefore Lynas need to watch out for an article in the Malaysian media on how she wants these dangerous products transported.
As these goods have been declared to be radioactive by the minister precautions will need to be taken to prevent any incidents occuring which will endanger the environment or the health of the Malaysian populous.
Lynas management will no doubt be puzzled by the ministers declarations, especially as the report commissioned by the Lynas critical commissioners on page 160 that the product is not radioactive for transport. So until Minister Yeo decides to inform Lynas how she wants the products transported Lynas wont have the slightest clue as to the cost of the removal of the product.
