Aspirations of being processors and entering the infant formula market for export, many have tried and continue to try to no avail. To be successful you have to have a Chinese licence which is not easy to achieve and then there is the supply of the raw product MILK which is becoming scarcer and scarcer with the never ending decline of milk production in Australia.
The original model would have been far more lucrative to investors and shareholders if it had been implemented to its full extent and had the dairy expertise within management to take it forward.
The large processors are out there shoring up supply of raw product thus we see many of the small processors closing down or on the market for sale.
