The dividends were too high for too long and the CR at $2.70 has become not just a ceiling but a distant ceiling on the share price.
The AISC for Tropicana in the past quarterly was abysmal. Sure we can argue that it was due to weather but as others have said, it’s always something. There’s always some bad news and even the announcements have errors and omissions that need correcting.
This market cap for the third largest gold producer in Australia with gold at record prices can really only come down to management. I fully expect the recently tanking share price to be because of some more bad news that will be announced in the coming days. Of course it will following on the heels of a drop in gold price to maximise the downside impact. Remember this is a management team that put a needless trading halt on for multiple days when gold first broke out.
its arguable that a management team couldn’t keep a share price suppressed like this so effectively if suppressing share price was their only goal.
