The TLX591 STORY!
The more I look at it, the more it gets interesting; Per the 2019 paper that showed 43 months OS which Telix folks have been very keen to tout in attempts to downplay what Clarity has;
1) The trials were done in 2007-10, and 2010-14, which was before Telix was even founded! That product was invented a long time ago and did not have not TLX branding then.
2) At the time, PSMA PET was not available: they used conventional imaging (CT, MRI, and BONE SCANS)!
3) The trial actually used PSA to determine treatment response, with the groups divided into non reponders and responders based on PSA levels post treatment. About 40% got worse per PSA as well as Radiologically!
4) It is the 17 responders (based on PSA) whose OS was the longest (43 months). Others who were treated but did not respond are not part of this analysis!
5) The analysis of OS used a statistical technique called Survival Analysis. Its a complex statistical technique.
6) New treatments were approved and patients received this even after the product that became TLX591. In a single arm study, this brought an additional layer of complexity.
I am not seeking to invalidate the method or analysis: Other studies will face the same and as long as they are all analysed in the same way, its all fine.
Comparing findings from that study with SECURE is problematic. Eg: All who got 64CU-SAR-BISPSMA responded, so who will you exclude? Is it ever ok to simply count the complete responses and say, hey, it worked?
And by the way, the other thing that gives Clarity Superpowers is the Perfect Paring of Cu64/Cu67! I dont think many people realise what this means: this is true precision. If a cancer loves to eat chicken for dinner - you place cancer killing stuff in a chicken meal to kill it! Something like that!
