You don’t grasp the concept of the insurer settled for commercial reasons to see off the greenmailer
If their(your) case was strong they would not have settled with MSB but rather litigated it in court and gone for the big payout
Good case= Good payout No settlement before litigation as they would certainly win
Not a strong case= Settlement for a low amount as it is cheaper than litigation which the plaintiff (MSB) might win
