bolded parts are your own spin. For instance I could equally say: the Plaintiffs case was so weak that they decided to settle with the insurer to maximize any potential monetary gain from this case that they could get (rather than risk getting even less or anything at all).
Call it game theory. Call it deal or no deal. I wouldn't bother with the spin personally: all I see is that Mesoblast was not found to be at fault in this instance and there has been no impact to their cashflow. Life goes on.
