Before I invest in a company I do the following:
· Research the bejesus out of it
· Look at competitors and performance
· Look at market segmentation
· Look at the geographical of where the market is and the potential it offers
· Previous reports
· Whether they have meet their targets or forecasts
· Have there been any mistakes in strategy or forecasts
· The economic landscape as best as I can
· Forensic look at the management
· Profile the individuals as to
o Industry knowledge,
o industries worked in,
o previous roles and if there are synergies to what they are doing now,
o where they are connected to and whether this can assist in benefiting the company.
I do this as I have been an investor for 30 odd years and having had a couple of tough lessons along the way, this is my due diligence.
