retail forgets how institutional brokerage works lol. its all about scaling capital. the brokers/underwriters take away a ~10% fee and get their $9m, then the instos fork out their $90m to churn out a $9m profit in a short turnover. rinse repeat, and the managing director gets a new mclaren.
The longer term plays get done on a different trading desk. they also eventually get new mclarens.
