If another Big Pharma wants in, the window is closing and their only option is a takeover. This may flush it out. I hope that the IMU executive retains control to do what none have achieved to date. To bring together the leading researchers and knit them into arrangements that they are clearly very enthused about, is an extraordinary achievement. This needs such collaboration that in my view it becomes essential to the furtherance of the medical science that many key groups are involved. It would be incredibly worrying for the future of this science if it ended up under one Big Pharma control. We need to ensure it doesn’t.
