They didn't want to have a mass dilution, they just wanted to get cracking on things. I would have got my allocation plus a bunch of shortfall ones but unfortunately the brokers I used for purchasing this particular stock do not allow clients to participate in capital raises, so I was stuck buying any additional shares at market prices.
Why you didn't consider buying your allocation and purchasing additional shares above your allocation is beyond me.
