Performance shares IMO should be tied into numerous KPIs

Revenues, Profitability and in turn the share price. Shareholders are really only interested in two things, the share price and the potential payment of dividends and both of these really can only be achieved through increased revenues and profitability.

Obviously the share price will usually correlate to and increase in revenues and profitability however as everyone knows the share price of some companies is disproportionate to this and factors that would obviously increase the share price without an increase in revenues and profitability would be potential revenues and profits.

The unfortunate thing here is different markets have different mentalities and this also is reflected in the share price of some companies.
