Yes, everyone would like to short this share now if possible.
It was equally true when it was 60c, 90c and over a dollar.
After the first ASX query and there was no new announcement, any traders would have jumped out.
Anyone buying in would have been reckless.
The overriding thought is selling instead of buying.
Likewise with the second ASX query.
Yet against all logic, the price went up further, most likely not from traders buying as that is not how they operate.
Maybe, someone knows something that we don't.
