Let's pretend I'm Moweth for a sec. I stumble upon potentially the largest deposit known of a material that already has small (but steady and established) application worldwide with a known value.

That existing consumption alone could act as a guaranteed income for me to fund other exploration projects for many years.

I am also aware of other potential applications for this gigantic resource that could make me extremely wealthy, but it is a new and unestablished market that requires a good deal of R&D to get off the ground.

I walk away because it feels too hard.

Dunno about anyone else, but that doesn't sound like a very committed exploration company to me.
