yes UMAX has never been popular, l suspect l was the only person who ever liked the holding. while l recently offloaded over the last decade l have generally held.

the reason why it is used is because it generated tax effective income. it used call options (hence the additional management fees).

over the years l always found that the more volatile the markets the higher the income seemed to be (? my feeling)

while it has no franking credits a portion of the income was always tax deferred. so for people with tax issues it has advantages.

once tax is less of a concern the shine fades.

IVV & IOO are great but really you need a lot if dividends are your source of income, most will need to add an income share as well REITS UMAX etc

yep PCI is less attractive it's on the radar. the fees are off putting (to be honest) still the monthly income seems reasonable. watching..

yes CLW does have a few warning lights, l have read.
